ABOUT
PROFILE LOCATION MISSION
In addition to recycling waste products such as paper, cardboard, glass, newspaper, and plastic on a daily basis, WDL Systems' building in Pittsboro, North Carolina was specifically designed to be environmentally sound; while meeting the needs of the company. We chose to install a geothermal heating and air conditioning system, named by the Environmental Protection Agency as the most energy-efficient, environmentally clean, and cost-efficient space conditioning system available. It is anticipated that this system will reduce WDL Systems' energy consumption by 40% as compared to air source heat pumps. Other energy-saving features include argon gas filled windows to increase efficiency, large windows to bring in more natural light and a planned wastewater treatment system using a constructed wetland.

WDL Systems, has previous knowledge of innovative wastewater plans. In 1995, we were involved (as EMJ) in the restoration of an abandoned building on the shores of Jordan Lake. A traditional septic system could not be used, so reclamation of the building could only occur when a researcher from NC State University designed an unique water recycling system that used constructed wetlands to cleanse the water. See http://waterrecycling.com for more information on this water recycling system.
