At Last, A Carrier Board Worthy of the World's Smallest PC
Mite PC gets DIMM-PC Developers to Market Quicker
APEX, NC, 28 March 2000 - WDL Systems is bolstering its support of the small and powerful DIMM-PC single board computers from JUMPtec (now known as Kontron), by adding mite PC, a DIMM-PC carrier board from MITE Microcomputer Technology.
EMJ Vice President Mark Estill states, "We are always looking for products that will make our customers project development easier. EMJ is pleased to offer the mite PC, which will make implementing DIMM-PC fast and efficient."
mite PC is ideal for developers who want to make use of the DIMM-PC but who don't have the time or resources to build their own carrier board.
mite PC is just a little over 6 inches x 3 inches x 1 inch (155.6mm x 86.4mm x 27mm). It provides a slot for the diminutive CPU and a slot for one DIMM-PC I/O card. mite PC also features two serial connectors, an Ethernet connector, a keyboard connector, IDE interface and VGA interface.
A molded plastic case to enclose a configured mite PC is also available.
ABOUT DIMM-PC
DIMM-PC measures only 40x68 mm (1.57 x 2.68 inches) but packs the same punch as a standard 386 or 486 PC. It is perfect for use in high performance applications with space constraints, such as security apparatuses, medical instruments, factory automation, and global positioning systems.
DIMM-PC ships with onboard DRAM and flash and supports two serial ports and a parallel port, as well as floppy and hard drive interfaces, a real time, clock and watchdog timer, and an I2C-bus. Support for Ethernet, VGA/CRT/LCD and additional serial interfaces are offered through DIMM-PC I/O modules.
