FireWire™ Interface Technology Allows High-Speed, Real-Time Communications in Embedded Systems Applications

Apex, NC – 28 August, 2001 – WDL Systems expands its roster of world-class embedded products with the addition of IEEE-1394 technology from Mindready Solutions Inc. (TSE:MNY). Officially today, EMJ distributes Mindready’s comprehensive portfolio of hardware and software throughout North America.

IEEE-1394/FireWire® is a powerful standard for a new interface technology that enables extremely fast data transfer, up to 400-Mbps, between a computer system and a connected device. It is used in a variety of applications - process control applications for factories, automobile and aerospace communication links, telecommunication switch backplane, digital camera applications, and more. Mindready will soon release products based on the new powerful communication bus, 1394b, a new version of the IEEE-1394 standard, that will support greater bandwidth (first up to 800 Mbps), greater distance (up to 100 meters node-to-node distance) and greater price savings.
