WDL Systems Distributes Controller for Plasma Display Technology
Pittsboro, NC 15 May 2002 -- WDL Systems offers the PDP Box from JUMPtec Adastra (now known as Kontron) , a product specially designed to control wide screen plasma displays.
Flat plasma technology delivers excellent image quality, viewable in even the brightest environment from an exceptionally broad angle -- over 160 degrees.
Designed to mount on the back of a plasma display panel, the PDP Box is packaged in a black metal cover that is ideal for information kiosks and multimedia applications. It is powered by a Pentium III 700 MHz processor integrated with a 128-bit 2D/3D graphics controller and hardware accelerated DVD/MPEG2 decoding.
The PDP Box also features 128MB or 256MB SDRAM, a 20GB harddrive, an optional DVD/CD-ROM drive, a parallel port, 2 serial ports, 10/100Base-T Ethernet, 2 USB channels, and Sound Blaster 16 sound. All connectors for I/O are available, and the box features an integrated power supply.
The PDP Box was developed by INSIDE Technology, which is now part of JUMPtec Adastra.
EMJ Vice President Mark Estill says, With flat panel plasma displays, you get perfect images that are easily viewable from a broad angle, in a display that is less than six inches thick.
