September 2021, PITTSBORO, NC -- INSYS icom, a leading German manufacturer of industrial data communication and networking systems, has launched the MIRO Router in the US. The MIRO is a compact mobile router that provides flexible and secure system networking with stable connections between devices and the internet. The MIRO is small with several mounting options, and is priced attractively, making it an excellent choice for use in applications such as automatic dispensing machines and digital signage solutions.

The MIRO is a tough, durable 4G router, compact at 26 x 77 x 99mm, and designed for industrial settings. Mounting options include DIN rail mounting in two alignments, and screw mounting on walls or mounting plates. This VPN router is also available as a module for direct integration (MIROdul). MIRO provides VPN, LTE connectivity, digital I/O, and an Ethernet connection for linking devices and systems. MIRO features an extended temperature range of -40°C to +75°C, and independently tested shock and vibration resistance, making it suitable for the harshest environments.

The MIRO is ideal for use in industrial applications distributed over a large area, such as digital signage solutions, automatic dispensing machines, service stations, small solar power plants, or waste compactors. The MIRO is preinstalled with the hardened icom OS operating system which provides extensive monitoring and security features as well as VPN and routing functionality. Options for managed services via the icom Router Management and icom Connectivity Suite allow users to implement central device management quickly and easily.

Heiko Noll, Product Manager of the Router Division at INSYS icom, says: “The MIRO provides companies that have a large number of distributed systems with secure, stable networking via LTE. As a compact and durable router suitable for industrial use the MIRO is particularly effective in combination with our managed services.”

Donnie Springfield, CTO of WDL Systems, says: “We are thrilled that INSYS icom is now shipping this compact, durable VPN router for industrial applications. Its price point, 4G LTE connectivity, and size are going to make it very attractive to American integrators.”
