AMIT Wireless, founded in 1998 and headquartered in Tainan City, Taiwan, specializes in the design and manufacture of innovative products for M2M wireless connectivity via 5G/4G/CBRS LTE and WiFi. Their industrial modems, routers, and gateways are used around the world in IoT, IIoT, and AIoT applications.
WDL Systems is pleased to announce the immediate availability of the AMIT Wireless MDG200 embedded 4G modem that plugs into any M.2 or mPCIe slot to add 4G/LTE cellular connectivity to a device. The MDG200 is a highly reliable plug-and-play LTE Cat 4 modem that is certified and carrier approved for use in the United States.
The MDG200 can save users the cost of carrier approval for their host devices as well as expedite product integration. Users immediately connect to their network by inserting an AT&T or Verizon SIM card into the SIM-card slot; no additional drivers or software porting effort are required for Windows and Linux devices. The MDG200 is easily managed with a web-based GUI configuration tool that also provides connectivity status monitoring. The MDG200 features GPS capabilities as well as USB and UART interfaces, and an internal SIM slot for additional flexibility.
Bob Buchanan, WDL Systems Senior Product Manager, says “We’ve seen a growing demand for high-quality peripherals that take advantage of the standard M.2 and mPCIe sockets found on motherboards and single board computers. IoT and Edge devices especially require the addition of cellular connectivity to ensure that they are “always on”. We are excited to add the AMIT Wireless 4G/LTE modems to the list of modules our customers can use to expand the functionality of their devices without any kind of redesign.”
Kate Hsu, Senior Manager of Product and Business Development at AMIT Wireless Inc., says, “We are pleased to announce that WDL Systems will offer our MDG200 embedded modem series in the United States. WDL’s dual focus on Embedded/Edge Computing and IoT/AIoT applications makes them a natural partner for us.”
